Well, Charlie finally arrived on Ash Wednesday, March 9 at 3:48 pm! We went in to IU North Hospital at 5:30 am and pitocin was started pretty much as soon as we arrived. We labored throughout the day. At about 12:45 pm and 6 cm, I decided to go ahead with the epidural. Shortly thereafter, we were 10 cm and ready to push. 2 contractions and 4 pushes later, Charlie made his entrance into the world! Grant and I were both pretty confident that we were having a girl, so when Dr. Denman said "It's a boy!", I think we were both really shocked, but so incredibly happy!!!!
Charlie is doing great! He is eating and growing perfectly....and not even too bad at sleeping :) Stella is doing great with Charlie...she really seems to love him. She likes to know what he is doing and where he is, but usually just minds her own business and plays with her toys. As a family, we seem to be adjusting really well.
Thanks to everyone for the gifts, cards and prayers! And a very special thank you to my Mom, Lauren and Grant's Mom. We were soooo blessed to have their help during these first couple of weeks with Stella, Charlie, cooking and cleaning. Thank you so much!
Love, Grant, Krista, Stella and Charlie
